The Community Table 11/11/24 8pm

We are excited to offer The Community Table weekly with Jean, Barb, and Christine.

We will alternate between a 4:30 pm ET and 8:00 pm ET start time.

JOIN US

Because, there is something about gathering around a table, with food that brings out the goodness in each of us. Our hope is that “The Community Table” of Circles of Courageous Commons will set such a table of welcome. Where the “food” offered are the pieces of poetry, literature, and personal writings presented each day. 

Pat and I have tried to make it a practice to write together in the morning. Our practice is consistent enough that we have journals full of writing over the last decade. 

• We have created a ritual for our time:
• We share in the reading the entry always alternating days.
• The reader chooses the line or word from the entry that must somehow weave into our writing.
• After writing for about 15 minutes, we put down our pencils and read our entries to one another.

There are times our writings are the cornerstone for our breakfast conversation, other times not. This simple morning practice helps us to move from the Mystery of night into the dawning of a new day, offering a different kind of “food” for our day. 

WRITE

We invite you to join us in this practice – in community. Our plan is simple.

• Each day we will post a poem, reading or other piece for our reflection – HERE.
• We will invite you to consider the line we posted as your invitation into writing. (It is only an invitation.)
• You will then be invited to post any portion of our reflection, or not, online.
• We hope to make this process as easy as possible.
